BFRS operates from 13 facilities – 12 working fire stations and fire headquarters. Front-line apparatus consists of 10 pumpers, five quints/aerials, three rescue units, and four chiefs cars. Specialty apparatus includes a hazardous materials response unit, water response and recovery unit and boat, ventilation and cascade unit, and brush truck.
Other units include a FIREBLAST training prop, fire extinguisher trailer, foam trailer, fire safety education trailer, arson trailer, staff and service vehicles.
Station 1
Station 1 is located at 747 College Street. The facility was designed by George Ingram Associates, Inc. and built by Norstock Building Systems, Inc. in 1981 for $948,000.

Fire Headquarters
Fire Headquarters is located at 400 Walnut at Mulberry. The facility was designed by Livesay and Wiedemann Architects, and built by McDaniel Brothers Construction in 1927 for $85,000.
Listed as a historical landmark by the Texas Historical Commission, influences of the Spanish Renaissance revival, which was popular at the time, are evident in the red brick ornamentation and the geometric tile work under the eaves of the roof.
The Administration & Finance, Planning, and Logistics Sections are housed at Fire Headquarters, which includes the Fire Museum of Texas.
